When I take engagement or couples photos usually it’s somewhere in the nature. Sometimes it’s a nearby park or a forest, or at the beach. Sometimes it’s a unique, special place which holds happy memories for the couple. This time it was a bit different and quite authentic. ☺
We have all heard by now about a Danish word “Hygge” and that it became a defining characteristic of Danish culture. If you didn’t hear about it, let me bring you up to speed. 😉 “Hygge” is the only word in the World that has no translation. Yes, you’ve read it correctly, it can’t be translated! ☺ How, you might ask? Well, it’s because it describes a cozy atmosphere, a form of “togetherness” that can’t be described in just one word. “Hygge” includes a safe, loving, cozy and comfortable environment (with a couple of burning candles ☺ ).
Something that we know well and somewhere where its peaceful.
Sarolt and Mate contacted me and decided to be photographed in their lovely home in Denmark near Haderslev. They wanted a comfortable, natural and intimate environment where they can be just as they are. They love a good cup of coffee, a glass of red wine and to cuddle up with a book while listening to music. ☺ They enjoy the simplicity of everyday love that we all know and have experienced at one point. They wanted real “Hygge”. ☺
So that is exactly what we did on this photo shoot. We made it comfy, natural and a lot of fun.
Love,
Iva
