This statement can’t be more true. In today’s life, when we are so consumed with worries and problems we simply forget to enjoy and appreciate the little things we already have.
So one day, I decided to take control over my thoughts and try to focus only on the happy things.
“Just for one day”, I said, “to try it out.”
So, at first I’ve started to visualize what I wanted for myself…the life I wanted, and it instantaneously made me happy. But then I’ve also started to write down all the happy thoughts that came to my mind and then putting them on my fridge or my mirror, trying to surround myself with positivity and the things I love.
Lasse thought I was going crazy when he saw our fridge filled with “coo coo quotes”, as he calls them! 🙂 But I didn’t care! It started as a test, but it ended up with changing my everyday life for the better and now every time when something bad overwhelms me I just shake it off! 🙂
Of course there are things in life that sometimes you just can’t ignore or shake off, but even the smallest action towards positive thinking is a step in the right direction.
Try to do the same! Write down all the things you are grateful for today and that made you happy…from the smallest of things. It can be the laughter of your husband or your kids, someone who was nice to you today, the quote that inspired you to do something you love, those delicious muffins you ate in secret 😉
It will put a big smile on your face after you remind yourself how great today was, even though you had some struggles along the way. You become what you think about all day long, so keep your head to the sunshine and you will never see the shadow. 😉
